I've written a brief summary of the first 4 months of my round the world trip without money.

Within the next few days, I will release varied topics related to different and essential factors of my Adventure.

Today let's talk about "food, water & sleep"...

As I wrote about it before, I haven’t spent a single penny on these concerns since I left Nice.Of course, things have slightly changed since I’ve arrived in Delhi, as I was staying in a hostel for 19 days before moving to my boss’ house and office, until I head off to start my first volunteering project on the pitch, in the Himalayas.On the other hand, I haven’t spent any money anyway as the organisation eventually paid for my stay at the hostel and for the food expenses in the meantime.Actually, it doesn’t mean that I took any advantage of the situation as I was eating for less than 1 euro per day, usually having 2 meals as I got used to before, pretty much since the crossing of Turkey.Therefore I feel happy with myself to remain into the basic principles that I had set for my project.

Talking about Turkey, it is probably the place where I found people to be the most hospitable so far, especially when it comes to food and hitch-hiking.When I was hitch-hiking through the country and I was too hungry, I happened a few times just to pop into random shops or supermarkets to negociate some food for free…and it never failed really.Some merchants didn’t hesitate one second to set a table in the middle of their shop to offer me free meals!Also, when I was travelling with truck drivers, I never had to pay for anything.

Furthermore, I wanted to mention the unbelievable kindness of Syad, the owner of a cafe in Deira Creek, Dubai, who helped me out a lot through my epic adventure there, by providing me with food during the 3 days I spent in the bubbly city. I didn’t even try to think of what it would have been if I hadn’t randomly met him on the streets!

The body is a fantastic tool that can adapt very well through psycho-somatical and bio-energetical processes.
Of course I’ve lost weight, but what might sound crazy to you is not dramatic to me as it had already happened to me when crossing Australia with a 4-wheel-drive, from East to West, in 2006.

I arrived in Broome (North-west) and had no money at all with me so I had to eat plain white bread for more than a week and I had lost 8 kg at that time, getting down to 66kg (in a good day, I weigh 75-76kg).

Also, I went from 76 down to 71kg during the preparation of my first marathon in November 2010.For this journey, I have lost 8kg so far, going from 79 to 71kg, but I feel very healthy.

As my metabolism has been evolving along with the countries I’ve crossed and thanks to my decent knowledge in physiology, I’ve buit up my immune system in order not to have any digestive troubles when reaching India.And it has worked out so far.

Actually, at least 80% of the travellers I’ve met got food and water issues in India and for my part, I’m even drinking tap water!It is a good point as I had no idea how I would finance my water consumption here if I had to drink bottled water during all my stay in Asia.

Not looking too much ahead but it is also quite appreciable to handle this point when I think of my future trip in Central and South America where it is supposed to be the same concern with water ingestion.

I was slightly afraid of eating dishes which would be too spicy for me (I love spices but I’m a bit more reluctant to burning hotness) but even though I also ate very spicy food, which is obviously very common in India, I haven’t had any problem at all with this concern.

Throughout my trip, so far, I’ve realised even more than I did before that food is just a fantastic medium of connecting and gathering people, and I already knew it would be a fundamental part of my experience and of what I would write in my book.

As a matter of fact, travelling overland is more relevant and somehow enlightening when it comes to seeing how things slowly but consistently evolve on the way. And it is the same process for the linguistic abilities.For example, from « peynir » (« cheese » in Turkish), and « paneer » (in Farsi-Iran), to « paneer » (same word in Hindi), we can obviously feel the geographical proximity…but what « proximity » exactly?

For most Westerners, it is kind of the « same area » but in actuality, these 3 countries stretch on almost 7000km!Therefore I believe that it is more of a historical proximity and consequence related to the fact that most ancient civilisations in Asia made their way from the East to the West, notably with Genghis Khan’s quest late 12th and early 13th century A.D. and then with his successors, which somehow forged the modern world as we know it, from the shores of the Japan sea to what we know now as Central and Northern Europe (it is particularly outstanding in Hungary and Finland with 2 unclassifiable languages that might be directly coming from the Mongol civilisation).

At the end of the day, Turkish, Persian and Hindi people have all cheese for breakfast!

Regarding my sleeping pattern now, things have been developing in a very random way.

As I mentioned many times before, I felt completely exhausted from the first 4 months of my trip when arriving in Delhi. The 3 nights sleeping on the streets and at a police station in Dubai didn’t help much obviously.
Apart from that, I had accumulated some substantial tiredness before that very stage of my voyage anyway; Sleeping in very random and harsh conditions all the way from Budapest to Iran…and when I didn’t sleep on the floor, in shared beds or even in trucks in Turkey, it was just a matter of lacking proper and restful sleep anyway.

I slept 30 hours in 10 nights before reaching Istanbul and the crossing of Turkey was probably even tougher. Since Iran, I haven’t seen a decent mattress but in this case, this is more of a cultural matter.

Actually it is usual in the Persian tradition to sleep on the floor and regarding beds, which exist of course, people are conditioned to a very thin layer of what we couldn’t call a mattress in Western countries, on top of plain wood, whether it is in Iran or India.It is supposed to be very healthy for your back but when you’ve been used to something much softer for almost all your life, it takes quite some time to adapt to the concept, which is ok for me now however I couldn’t sleep that well in the meantime.That is where my inflatable mattress was so helpful and still is!

When arriving in Delhi, I went to a hostel for the very first time since the beginning of my trip. Not that I truly wanted to go to a hostel, but the Nirvana hostel had actually published a post on a volunteering website (HelpX) and was supposedly looking for people to help them in exchange of free food and accommodation.

I thought it would be a brilliant idea since I was so tired and considering that I was running a backpackers hostel for 6 months in Dunedin, New Zealand, a few years ago thus a very relevant personal experience with regards to this kind of position.

However, things didn’t turn out as expected (which is obviously quite common when you’re an independent traveller this precept being consistently multiplied because of my specific way of travelling) and finally, there was no volunteering position available at all in this hostel.

I’m now staying with Neelam (I often call him Neel) and Neeta (his wife) who kindly offered me to stick around until I leave Delhi for my first Eco-friendly project, probably in the Himalayas.

It is something very special to me at this very stage of my travel as it is actually the first time since I left my place and started my journey that I have my very own room. The consequences are tremendous as I have my own privacy and intimacy, which I was very much looking forward to.I can just read my books and do my writings whenever I feel like without having to socialise or interact with anyone around.
One of the main factors of my voyage is of course to connect to local people and communities, which I have done for the past 4 months on a daily basis but I need my solitude as well…so it is just a delectable feeling!

J'ai écrit un bref résumé de mes 4 premiers mois de périple autour du monde sans argent.

Dans les jours qui viennent, je publierai different passages relatifs à des sujets variés et essentiels de mon Aventures.

Aujourd'hui, parlons de "l'alimentation et du sommeil"...

Comme je l'ai déjà écrit à ce sujet, je n'ai pas dépensé un seul centime sur ces paramètres depuis que j'ai quitté Nice.
Bien sûr, les choses ont un peu changé depuis que je suis arrivé à Delhi, car j'étais dans une auberge de jeunesse pendant 19 jours avant d’aller vivre à la maison de mon patron, jusqu'à ce que je commence mon premier projet du bénévolat dans l'Himalaya.

D'un autre côté, je n'ai de toute façon pas dépensé d'argent car l'organisation Silver Earth India a finalement payé pour mon séjour et également pour les frais de nourriture depuis que je suis arrivé en Inde.

De plus, cela ne signifie pas que j'ai pris l’avantage de la situation car je mange pour moins d’un euro par jour, ayant généralement 2 repas ce à quoi je me suis habitué auparavant, à peu près depuis la traversée de la Turquie.Depuis que je vis chez mon patron, je suis logé et nourri gratuitement en échange du volontariat et aussi de cours d’anglais pour leur fils de 10 ans.

En parlant de la Turquie, il s’agit probablement de l'endroit où j'ai trouvé les gens les plus hospitaliers jusqu’à ce jour, surtout quand il s'agit de nourriture.

Quand je faisais de l'autostop et quand j'avais trop faim, il m'est arrivé quelques fois juste de ma rendre dans des magasins ou dans des supermarchés de manière aléatoire pour négocier un peu de nourriture gratuite...et cela a toujours fonctionné.Certains commerçants n'ont pas hésité une seconde pour mettre une table au milieu de leur magasin pour m'offrir des repas gratuits!

Aussi, lorsque je voyageais avec des routiers en camion, je n'ai jamais eu à payer pour quoi que ce soit.

Par ailleurs, je voulais aussi parler de la gentillesse incroyable de Syad, le propriétaire d'un café à Deira Creek, Dubaï, qui m'a beaucoup aidé dans mon épique aventure là-bas, en me fournissant de la nourriture gratuite pendant les 3 jours que j'ai passés dans la ville. Je n'ai même pas essayé de penser à ce qu'il aurait été si je ne l'avais pas rencontré par hasard dans la rue!

Le corps est en effet un outil fantastique qui peut s'adapter de manière substantielle au travers des processus psychosomatiques et bio-énergiques.Bien sûr, j'ai perdu du poids, mais ce qui peut paraître fou pour vous n'est pas dramatique pour moi, car ceci m'est déjà arrivé lors de ma traversée de l'Australie en 4X4, d'Est en Ouest, en 2006.Je suis arrivé à Broome et n'avait pas d'argent avec moi, donc j'ai dû manger du pain blanc pendant plus d'une semaine et j'avais perdu 8 kg à ce moment-là, étant descendu à 66kg (en moyenne je pèse 75-78kg).

En outre, je suis passé de 76 à 71 kg lors de la préparation de mon premier marathon en Novembre 2010.

Pour ce voyage, j'ai perdu 8 kg jusqu'à présent, passant de 79 à 71 kg, mais je me sens en bonne santé.

Comme mon métabolisme a évolué en symbiose avec les pays que j'ai traversés et grâce à mes connaissances en physiologie, j'ai pu renforcé mon système immunitaire afin de ne pas avoir de troubles digestifs en atteignant l'Inde.Et ceci a très bien fonctionné jusqu'à présent.

En fait, 80% des voyageurs que j'ai rencontrés ont eu des problèmes alimentaires et liés à l'eau en Inde et, pour ma part, je bois même l'eau du robinet!

C’est plutôt rassurant car je n'avais aucune idée de comment je financerais ma consommation d'eau dans ce pays si je devais boire de l'eau en bouteille durant tout mon séjour en Asie.Sans trop regarder à l’horizon, ceci est aussi très appréciable pour la gestion mon futur voyage en Amérique Centrale et du Sud où il est censé exister le même souci avec l'ingestion de l'eau.

Aussi, j’avais un peu « peur » de manger des plats qui seraient trop épicés pour moi (j'adore les épices, mais je suis un peu plus réticents à tout ce qui est trop « piquant »), mais même si j'ai également mangé de la nourriture très épicée, ce qui est évidemment très répandu en Inde, je n’ai eu aucun problème du tout avec cela jusqu‘à maintenant.

Tout au long de mon voyage, jusqu'à présent, je me suis encore plus rendu compte que la nourriture est juste un moyen fantastique pour connecter et rassembler les gens, et je savais déjà que ce serait un élément fondamental de mon expérience et de ce que je voulais écrire dans mon livre.De ce fait, voyager par voie terrestre est en quelque sorte plus pertinent et instructif quand il s'agit de voir comment les choses évoluent lentement mais surement en cours de route. Et c'est le même processus pour les compétences linguistiques.

Par exemple, de «peynir» («fromage» en turc), vers «paneer» (en farsi, Iran), jusqu’à «paneer» (même mot en hindi), on peut évidemment sentir la proximité géographique...mais quelle proximité exactement?Pour la plupart des Occidentaux, il s’agit de plus ou moins la même zone géographique mais en réalité, ces 3 pays s'étirent sur presque 7000 kilomètres!

C'est pourquoi je crois qu'il s’agit plus d'une proximité historique lié au fait que les civilisations ont fait leur chemin de l'Orient vers l'Occident, notamment avec la quête de Gengis Khan à la fin du 12ème jusqu’au début du 13ème siècle, puis de ses successeurs, ce qui en quelque sorte a forgé le monde moderne que nous connaissons, depuis les rivages de la mer du Japon à ce que nous connaissons maintenant de l‘Europe Centrale et du Nord (ceci est particulièrement remarquable en Hongrie et en Finlande avec 2 langues inclassables qui sont directement issues de la civilisation mongole).

En bref, les turcs, les persans et les hindis mangent tous du fromage au petit déjeuner!

En ce qui concerne mon rythme de sommeil maintenant, les choses ont évolué de façon très aléatoire.Comme je l'ai mentionné de nombreuses fois auparavant, je me suis senti complètement épuisé par les 4 premiers mois de mon voyage en arrivant sur Delhi.Les 3 nuits à dormir dans les rues et dans un poste de police sur Dubaï ne m’ont pas beaucoup aidé évidemment.

En dehors de cela, j'avais de toute façon accumulé une certaine fatigue substantielle avant ce stade de mon voyage;J’ai dormi dans des conditions très aléatoires et difficiles tout le chemin de Budapest à l'Iran...et quand je n'ai pas dormi sur le sol même, ou dans des lits partagés, ou même dans des camions en Turquie, c'était juste une question de manque de sommeil et de repos.À un certain moment, j'ai dormi moins de 30 heures en 10 nuits avant d'atteindre Istanbul et la traversée de la Turquie fut sans doute encore plus difficile.Par la suite, en Iran, je n'ai pas expérimenté un seul matelas digne de ce nom, mais dans ce cas, c’est plus une question de facteur culturel. En fait, il est d'usage dans la tradition persane de dormir sur le sol et également sur des lits, qui existent bien sûr, mais sur lesquels les gens sont conditionnés à une couche très fine de ce que nous ne pouvons pas appeler un matelas dans nos pays occidentaux, au-dessus de bois brut, et ce que ce soit il est en Iran ou en Inde.Ceci est censé être très « bon » pour la santé de votre dos, mais quand vous avez été habitué à quelque chose de beaucoup plus mou pour la quasi-totalité de votre vie, il faut un certain temps pour s’adapter au concept, ce qui est pour moi maintenant gérable sachant que je n'ai pas pu dormir décemment entre temps.C'est là que mon matelas gonflable m‘a sauvé à maintes reprises!

En arrivant à Delhi, je suis rendu dans une auberge de jeunesse pour la première fois depuis le début de mon voyage.Non pas que je voulais absolument allé dans une auberge de jeunesse, mais l'auberge Nirvana avait publié un article sur un site de volontariat et ses gérants étaient supposés être à la recherche de personnes pour les aider en échange de nourriture et d'hébergement gratuits.J'ai pensé que ce serait une excellente idée sachant que j'étais tellement exténué et considérant que j'ai été entièrement responsable d’un « backpackers hostel » pendant 6 mois à Dunedin, Nouvelle-Zélande, il y a quelques années de cela, donc une expérience personnelle très pertinente relativement à ce genre de poste.

Cependant, les choses ne se passent pas toujours comme prévu (ce qui est évidemment très fréquent quand vous êtes un voyageur indépendant et ce précepte est multiplié de manière consistante en raison de ma manière spécifique de me déplacer), et finalement, il n'y avait pas de position de volontariat disponible du tout à cet endroit.

Je suis maintenant chez Neelam (que j'appelle souvent Neel) et Neeta (son épouse) qui m'ont gentiment offert de rester chez eux jusqu'à ce que je quitte Delhi pour mon premier projet écologique.C'est quelque chose de très spécial pour moi à ce stade de mon voyage c’est en fait la première fois depuis que j'ai quitté Nice et ainsi que j'ai commencé mon Aventure que j'ai mon cocon personnel.Les conséquences sont énormes car j'ai ma propre vie privée et de l'intimité, ce dont j’avais vraiment hâte.Je peux juste lire mes livres et faire mes écrits quand j'en ai envie sans avoir à socialiser ou à interagir avec qui que ce soit.L'un des facteurs principaux de mon voyage est bien entendu de me connecter avec les gens et avec les communautés locales, ce que j'ai fait pour les 4 derniers mois sur une base quotidienne mais j'ai aussi besoin de ma solitude..Il s’agit donc juste d’un sentiment délectable!

Money/L'argent...

Just a quick reminder, 75 euro (100 euro all together with the photos and side expenses) is the amount of money I had to pay for the 1-month Iranian visa, its extension being much cheaper though (8 euro for at least 15 days).
Also these 100 euro that I spent for this purpose was the first money I had to use since I had left my place!
Hence, I travelled through France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Turkey without having to use a single euro for eating and sleeping, just hitch-hiking on my way and connecting to the locals (Also some Couchsurfing but not much at all).

In fact, I left France with about 500 euro of pocket money as I had deleted my bank account before I departed.
This is then the total budget for my whole trip and of course it has nothing to do with transportation, food and sleep (the 3 main factors of my journey) as I have to pay for some visas and border crossings on my way.
I have 300 euro remaining as I write right now, in order to complete my voyage.
It is not much but on the other hand, I went through the most difficult and expensive borders to cross…or not to cross, since I didn’t go through Pakistan, as originally planned.
Instead, I had to hitch-hike all the way to Dubai, busk with my guitar on the streets and fly out from there, which was not intended at all in the first place.

Juste un petit rappel, 75 euro (100 euro en tout avec les photos et les dépenses secondaires) est le montant que j’ai du payer pour le visa d’un mois en Iran (à Trabzon, Turquie), son extension étant beaucoup moins cher (8 euro pour 15 jours minimum).
Ces 75 euro furent la première somme d’argent que j'ai eu à utiliser depuis que j‘étais parti de Nice!
Par conséquent, j'ai voyagé à travers la France, la Belgique, les Pays-Bas, l’Allemagne, la République Tchèque, l'Autriche, la Hongrie, la Serbie, la Bulgarie et la Turquie, sans avoir à utiliser un seul euro pour manger et dormir, juste à faire de l’auto-stop sur ma route.

En bref, j'ai quitté la France avec environ 500 euro d'argent de poche et j'avais supprimé mon compte en banque avant de partir.
Voilà donc mon budget total pour mon voyage et bien sûr cela n'a rien à voir avec le transport, la nourriture et le sommeil (les 3 principaux facteurs de mon périple), l’unique raison est que je dois payer pour certains visas et pour le passage de certaines frontières qui se présentent à moi.
J'ai 300 euro restants au moment où j'écris afin de compléter mon Aventure.
Ce n'est certes pas beaucoup, mais d'un autre côté, j’ai passé les frontières les plus difficiles et coûteuses...ou pas, puisque je ne suis pas allé au Pakistan, comme prévu initialement.
Au lieu de cela, j'ai dû faire du stop jusqu’à Dubaï, jouer de la guitare dans les rues et de prendre l’avion, ce qui n'était pas prévu du tout à la base.

I'm finally done with the administrative hassle regarding the Indian visa. I'll get it in about 2 weeks in either Zahedan or Bandar-e-abbas, in the South of the country, in order to keep visiting this stunning country.
I'll extend my Iranian visa in Isfahan or Yazd and I'll apply for the Pakistani one later on.
Leaving Tehran very soon, after 30cm of snow in 2 days in the Northern part of the city. Photos very soon.
Going to the South and the desert. Looking forward to that! :-)

J'en ai enfin fini avec les tracas administratifs concernant le visa indien. J'irai le chercher dans environ 2 semaines sur Zahedan ou Bandar-e-Abbas, dans le sud, pour continuer de visiter ce pays fantastique.
Je prolongerai mon visa iranien à Isfahan ou Yazd et postulerai pour le visa Pakistanais plus tard.
Je quitte Téhéran très bientôt, après 30 cm de neige en 2 jours dans la partie nord de la ville. Photos pour très bientôt.
Je vais vers le sud et le désert. J'ai hate! :-)

Iran visa in Trabzon (Turkey)/Visa pour l'Iran obtenu à Trabzon!

Après 1400km en Turquie et près de 6500km en stop depuis mon départ de Nice, je suis à présent arrivé sur Trabzon, sur les bords de la Mer Noire.

J'ai dormi 3 nuits sur les 4 dernières dans 2 camions différents.
Quand je dis "dormi", il s'agit là d'un grand mot; j'ai dormi 4 heures en 2 nuits avant d'arriver sur Trabzon (hier après-midi).
A part cela, j'ai eu la fantastique opportunité de visiter presque en détails ce merveilleux pays qu'est la Turquie.
Depuis le bouillon culturel d'Istanbul, en passant par les paysages sauvages et envoûtants de l'Anatolie et de la Cappadocia, jusqu'aux contreforts de la Mer Noire, j'ai exploré un pays riche de contrées magnifiques et variées, peuplé de personnes incroyablement disponibles, gentilles et hospitalières.

Bien sur, j'aurais pu rester 2 mois de plus mais il y a aussi d'autres lieux fascinants qui se présenteront à moi très bientôt, à commencer par l'Iran.
J'ai vraiment hâte de découvrir ce berceau de civilisation et de culture, encore plus depuis que j'ai vécu avec mes amis iraniens sur Amsterdam pendant presque 1 an.
Une bonne transition pour vous dire que je suis allé à l'ambassade d'Iran aujourd'hui et que j'ai obtenu mon visa en...1 heure!
D'un autre côté, il s'agit de ma première dépense pendant ce périple, qui a maintenant debuté depuis 2 mois. Le seul budget que j'ai prévu d'utiliser car je ne suis pas encore prêt à passer les frontières sans visa!
Il m'a malheureusement coûté 75 euro, mais bon je pense qu'il s'agit d'une dépense que tout le monde peut réaliser, donc ce n'est pas hors-projet.
Je suis autorisé à rester en Perse pour un mois, mais je pourrai prolonger mon séjour de 15 jours sur place si je le souhaite.

Les jours se suivent et ne se ressemblent pas et je rentre de plus en plus dans un état d'impermanence le plus total.
Aujourd'hui avant de me rendre à l'ambassade, j'ai essayé une nouvelle méthode pour me nourrir, à savoir me rendre dans un restaurant pour obtenir de la nourriture gratuite qui ne serait pas vendue aux clients.
J'ai finalement mangé gratuitement dans le restaurant!
Sur le chemin du retour, je voulais me rendre dans un supermarché local pour avoir un peu de nourriture gratuite pour cuisiner pour mes hôtes (Peter, hongrois, et Ogulcan, turc), ainsi que pour les autres couchsurfers sur place (Sonia, italienne et Juan, argentin), et j'ai fini à manger gratuitement dans le magasin!
De plus, j'ai réussi à obtenir un pain artisanal de 2 kilos en guise de cadeau pour l'anniversaire de Sonia.

Je compte rester sur Trabzon jusqu'à samedi pour me reposer avant de me rendre tout doucement vers les montagnes de l'Est de l'Anatolie, et vers l'Iran.
Je devrais être sur Tabriz (Iran), début de semaine prochaine, en route vers de nouvelles aventures. Encore une fois, je ne peux pas garantir ma fréquence de connection internet d'ici là.

After 1400km in Turkey and nearly 6500km Hitch-hiking since I left Nice, I've now arrived at Trabzon, on the shores of the Black Sea.

I slept for the last 3 nights in 2 different trucks.
When I say "slept", this is a big word, as I slept 4 hours in 2 nights before arriving at Trabzon (yesterday afternoon).
Apart from that, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit almost in detail this fantastic country that is Turkey.
From History of Istanbul, through the wilderness of Anatolia and the captivating Cappadocia, to the seafront of the Black Sea, I explored a country rich of beautiful and varied places, where people are incredibly available, kind and hospitable.

Of course, I could stay another 2 months here but there are also other fascinating places that will be ahead of me very soon, starting with Iran.
I cannot wait to discover this cradle of civilisation and culture, even more since I lived with my Iranian friends in Amsterdam for almost 1 year.

A smooth transition to tell you that I went to the Iranian embassy today and I got my visa in... 1 hour!
On the other hand, it is my first expense for this trip, that started 2 months ago. The only budget that I planned to use in the meantime as I am not yet ready to cross borders without a visa!
He unfortunately cost me 75 euro, but I think it is an expense that everyone could achieve somehow, therefore not being out of the project.
I'm allowed to be in Persia for a month, and will be able to extend my stay for another 15 days when on spot.

Days are very different from one another and I get more and more into a state of total impermanence.
Before I went to the embassy, I tried a new method in order to get free food, so I went to a restaurant to try and get food that wouldn't be sold to customers.
I finally ate in the restaurant for free!
On the way back, I wanted to go to a local supermarket to get some free food to cook for my guests (Peter, Hungarian, and Ogulcan, Turkish), as well as for other couchsurfers on spot (Sonia, Italian and Juan, Argentinian), and I ended up eating in the store for free!
In addition, I managed to get 2 kilos of homemade bread as a gift for Sonia's birthday.

I will stay around until Saturday in Trabzon in order to rest before going slowly towards the mountains of Eastern Anatolia, and to Iran.
I should be in Tabriz (Iran) early next week, en route to new adventures. Again, I can not guarantee my internet connection frequency until then.

However, I promise you new pictures and videos very soon!

Mon voyage/My journey

Que les gens le comprennent ou pas, je ne suis pas en vacances, ni même en voyage, mais dans une quête spirituelle à la fois personnelle et collective. Je dois continuer à avancer, non pas en me pressant, mais en allant où que le vent me mène, en écoutant mon coeur, hors des concepts occidentalisés de temps et d'espace.
Je pense que chaque petite chose de la vie se produit pour une raison bien particulière et que chaque petite chose qui est supposée arriver arrivera quand ce sera le moment, même si l'on peut toujours choisir le Chemin que l'on décide de prendre.
Vous pouvez toujours décider du niveau de fréquence vibratoire énergétique que vous émettez autour de vous.
Je suis seul mais pourtant connecté en permanence avec les gens de toutes sortes que je rencontre sur ma route, tout cela en même temps.
J'ai très souvent faim, je suis souvent épuisé mais tout va bien, car ceci est nécessairement connecté à ma route vers mon propre Bonheur. De ce fait, la façon dont j'interagis avec les personnes est très différente et plus authentique, et je pense qu'il s'agit là de l'essence même de ce que devrait être toute interaction humaine, basée sur l'amour, le partage, et la compassion.
Je pense que nous sommes tous une entité unique, enfants des étoiles, fait de la même matière que l'Univers lui-même, et même si le changement doit venir de nous-même dans un premier temps, nous avons besoin de nous reconnecter d'une manière différente les uns aux autres pour pouvoir évoluer.
Merci à tous de me suivre et de m'apporter du soutien, ceci va directement vers mon coeur et mon âme.

Whether people understand it or not, I'm not on a holiday, nor on a travel, but on a personal yet collective spiritual quest. I have to keep moving on, not rushing through though, but going wherever the wind takes me, and listening to my heart in the meantime, out of the westernised concepts of timing and spacing.

Le point sur mon équipement/My equipment

J'ai approximativement 40 kg de matériel avec moi (maintenant 35 avec le e-reader à la place des livres) et je me devais de faire un peu le point avec vous.
Cela paraît peut être énorme, mais n'oublions pas que je ne suis pas sensé acheter quoi que ce soit sur la route, si ce n'est faire des échanges. Je suis donc préparé et équipé, au moins en ce qui concerne la climatologie, à affronter des températures allant de plus ou moins -50°C à +50°C.

J'ai profité de rester quelques jours sur Poitiers pour refaire mon sac et aller au détail pour rééquilibrer les charges sur mes épaules.
Je ne suis pas non plus sensé faire de la randonnée, ni ne serait-ce marcher trop longtemps avec autant de poids sur mes épaules, mais il m'arrive déjà de marcher sur des périodes allant jusqu'à 30 minutes pour, par exemple, rejoindre un lieu plus intéressant pour y faire du stop.
Bref, pour l'instant, je suis équipé de la façon suivante;

Un gros sac à dos de randonnée contenant: mes habits (+écharpe, gants fins et de ski, collants, bonnet, chaussures de rando, cordes, poncho pour la pluie, guêtres, couteaux, papier toilette, trousse de toilette, 2 gourdes)

+ une tente, un sac de couchage et un matelas auto-gonflable.

Un sac à dos de taille moyenne (que je mets à l'envers) contenant: le matériel électrique (chargeurs, adaptateur, etc.), un chargeur solaire, l'ordinateur, 2 livres pour enseigner l'anglais, 2 livres pour lire à mes heures perdues, un cahier et un journal pour écrire si l'ordinateur venait à me lâcher, une boussole, 2 lampes frontales, des jumelles, un trépied pour la photographie.
Un petit sac à dos contenant la nourriture de survie (que je fixe au gros sac à dos)
Une trousse de premiers secours contenant: un set d'huiles essentielles (Gaulthérie, menthe poivrée et Ravintsara), comprimés neutres, baume du tigre, couvertures de survie, pansements, bandages, urgo strips, antiseptique, anti-moustique, crème solaire, crème hydratante, pastilles aseptisantes pour l'eau, compresses stériles, gants caoutchouc.
Ma guitare (que je fixe également au gros sac à dos)
Un tableau blanc "véléda" pour faire du stop
Un appareil Nikon D90, une Go Pro et un petit ordinateur portable

Je tenais à remercier les personnes qui m'ont "sponsorisé" pour ce voyage (de manière matérielle), à savoir: Mon oncle Lucien et ma tante Maryse, ma cousine Cécile et son petit ami Julien, Marianne (patronne du restaurant "Le Séquoia", Avenue Notre Dame à Nice, pour les vaccins), mon père, mes amis niçois (qui m'ont offert une Go Pro), Jean-Sébastien (achat du sac de couchage), Adrien (achat de l'ardoise effaçable pour l'auto-stop), et dernièrement Babak et Bahar pour l'achat du e-reader, ainsi que toutes les personnes qui me soutiennent dans la réalisation de mon projet, et de manière parallèle, mes convictions!

I have approximately 40 kg of equipment with me (now down to 35 with the e-reader instead of the books) and I wanted to get into detail with you.
It seems like a lot but do not forget that I'm not supposed to buy anything on the road, unless it is to trade. I am prepared and equipped at least with regards to climatology, and I should be able to face temperatures ranging from plus down to minus 50 ° C.

I took a few days in Poitiers in order to repack my bag and to rebalance the charges on my shoulders.
I'm not supposed to hike or even walk too long with this much weight on my them, but I sometimes have to walk for periods of time up to 30 minutes, for example, to reach a more interesting place to hitch-hike.
In short, for the moment, I am equipped with the following;

A large hiking backpack containing: my clothes (+ scarf, normal gloves and snowboarding gloves, hat, hiking shoes, ropes, rain poncho, leggings, knife, toilet paper, toiletries, 2 bottles)

+ A tent, sleeping bag and self-inflating mattress.

A medium sized backpack (I put it in front of me) containing: Electrical equipment (chargers, adapters, etc.), A solar charger, laptop, two books to teach English, two books to read during my spare time, a notebook and a journal to write if the computer had to let me down, a compass, two headlamps, binoculars, a tripod for photography.

A small backpack containing survival food (I fixed it to the big backpack)

A first aid kit containing: a set of essential oils (wintergreen, peppermint and Ravintsara), neutral tablets (to ingest the oils), Tiger Balm, survival blankets, plasters, bandages, urgo strips, antiseptic, insect repellent, sunscreen cream, purifying tablets for water, sterile gauze, rubber gloves.
