Iranian border! Frontière Iranienne!

Bonjour!

Tout s'est bien passé depuis Trabzon, où j'ai passé 4 jours finalement, avec mon hôte Peter (originaire de Budapest) et son sympathique colocataire turc Ogulcan.
En outre, il y avait 2 autres surfeurs avec qui je suis devenu ami; Sonia, d'Italie et Juan, d'Argentine.

Puis j'ai effectué 300 km dans les montagnes de l'Anatolie orientale, avec un arrêt de 2 jours à Erzurum, à 2000 mètres d'altitude, entouré des gens exceptionnels; mes hôtes Mahmut, Yussuf et Hamed, ainsi que 2 autres surfeurs français: Quentin et Erwan, d'Annecy.
Il s'agit d'un événement rare pour moi que de rencontrer des Français en voyage, d'autant plus que je les fuis en général, mais ces 2 garçons sont juste incroyablement gentils et ouverts d'esprit, et nous avons tous créé d'excellentes connexions.

Dans l'ensemble, durant ces quelques jours à Trabzon et Erzurum, nous avons passé notre temps à jouer de la musique, en fait beaucoup de différents instruments, y compris les traditionnels turcs, et nous avons également eu différents types de conversations sur le monde et sa situation actuelle...et bien sûr, en ce qui concerne ce qui pourrait être ainsi des solutions individuelles et collectives viables.

Quelques photos doivent être téléchargées très bientôt, dès que j'ai la chance de pouvoir me poser et me reposer pour quelques jours...et j'ai à présent hâte que cela arrive.
Mais je sais que cela sera le cas en Iran, car je vais probablement passer au moins un mois là-bas, en améliorant ainsi mes compétences linguistiques persanes. J'adore cette culture et sa langue, et en fait tout ce qui s'y rapporte.

Après Erzurum, j'ai repris la route pour 300 km en direction de Dogubayazit, dernière ville turque située à 35 km de la frontière iranienne et au pied du mont Ararat (5137m).

Je suis parti il y a maintenant deux mois exactement (bien que je sois heureux de perdre lentement mais sûrement mes repères du calendrier grégorien), et j'ai fait 7000 km au total à ce jour!

Hello!

Everything went well in and from Trabzon where I finally spent 4 days with my hosts Peter (originally from Budapest) and his enjoyable Turkish flatmate, Ogulcan.
Also, there were another 2 surfers whom I became friend with; Sonia from Italy and Juan from Argentina.

Then 300km in the mountains of Eastern Anatolia and a 2-day stop in Erzurum, at 2000 meters above sea level with exceptional people around; my hosts Mahmut, Yussuf and Hamed, and another 2 French surfers: Quentin and Erwan, from Annecy.
It is a rare event for me to me to meet French people when travelling, especially as I'm trying more to flee from them but these dudes were just amazingly nice and all created great connections.
Overall, during these few days in Trabzon and Erzurum, we spent our time playing music, actually loads of different instruments, including Turkish traditional ones, and we also had heaps of different types of conversations about the world and its current condition...and of course regarding what could be individual and collective solutions as well.

Some photos are to be uploaded anytime I get a chance to settle down, rest and recover for a few days...which I'm now very much looking for. But I know it will happen in Iran as I'll probably spend at least a full month there, also improving my Persian language skills. I just love this culture and tongue, and actually everything related to it.

After Erzurum, I hit the road again for 300km in the direction of Dogubayazit, last Turkish town located 35km away from the Iranian border and at the foot of Mount Ararat (5137m).

I've been on the road for exactly two months (though I am happy to lose slowly but surely my bearings of the Gregorian calendar), and I have done 7000km in total so far!

Après 1400km en Turquie et près de 6500km en stop depuis mon départ de Nice, je suis à présent arrivé sur Trabzon, sur les bords de la Mer Noire.

J'ai dormi 3 nuits sur les 4 dernières dans 2 camions différents.
Quand je dis "dormi", il s'agit là d'un grand mot; j'ai dormi 4 heures en 2 nuits avant d'arriver sur Trabzon (hier après-midi).
A part cela, j'ai eu la fantastique opportunité de visiter presque en détails ce merveilleux pays qu'est la Turquie.
Depuis le bouillon culturel d'Istanbul, en passant par les paysages sauvages et envoûtants de l'Anatolie et de la Cappadocia, jusqu'aux contreforts de la Mer Noire, j'ai exploré un pays riche de contrées magnifiques et variées, peuplé de personnes incroyablement disponibles, gentilles et hospitalières.

Bien sur, j'aurais pu rester 2 mois de plus mais il y a aussi d'autres lieux fascinants qui se présenteront à moi très bientôt, à commencer par l'Iran.
J'ai vraiment hâte de découvrir ce berceau de civilisation et de culture, encore plus depuis que j'ai vécu avec mes amis iraniens sur Amsterdam pendant presque 1 an.
Une bonne transition pour vous dire que je suis allé à l'ambassade d'Iran aujourd'hui et que j'ai obtenu mon visa en...1 heure!
D'un autre côté, il s'agit de ma première dépense pendant ce périple, qui a maintenant debuté depuis 2 mois. Le seul budget que j'ai prévu d'utiliser car je ne suis pas encore prêt à passer les frontières sans visa!
Il m'a malheureusement coûté 75 euro, mais bon je pense qu'il s'agit d'une dépense que tout le monde peut réaliser, donc ce n'est pas hors-projet.
Je suis autorisé à rester en Perse pour un mois, mais je pourrai prolonger mon séjour de 15 jours sur place si je le souhaite.

Les jours se suivent et ne se ressemblent pas et je rentre de plus en plus dans un état d'impermanence le plus total.
Aujourd'hui avant de me rendre à l'ambassade, j'ai essayé une nouvelle méthode pour me nourrir, à savoir me rendre dans un restaurant pour obtenir de la nourriture gratuite qui ne serait pas vendue aux clients.
J'ai finalement mangé gratuitement dans le restaurant!
Sur le chemin du retour, je voulais me rendre dans un supermarché local pour avoir un peu de nourriture gratuite pour cuisiner pour mes hôtes (Peter, hongrois, et Ogulcan, turc), ainsi que pour les autres couchsurfers sur place (Sonia, italienne et Juan, argentin), et j'ai fini à manger gratuitement dans le magasin!
De plus, j'ai réussi à obtenir un pain artisanal de 2 kilos en guise de cadeau pour l'anniversaire de Sonia.

Je compte rester sur Trabzon jusqu'à samedi pour me reposer avant de me rendre tout doucement vers les montagnes de l'Est de l'Anatolie, et vers l'Iran.
Je devrais être sur Tabriz (Iran), début de semaine prochaine, en route vers de nouvelles aventures. Encore une fois, je ne peux pas garantir ma fréquence de connection internet d'ici là.

After 1400km in Turkey and nearly 6500km Hitch-hiking since I left Nice, I've now arrived at Trabzon, on the shores of the Black Sea.

I slept for the last 3 nights in 2 different trucks.
When I say "slept", this is a big word, as I slept 4 hours in 2 nights before arriving at Trabzon (yesterday afternoon).
Apart from that, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit almost in detail this fantastic country that is Turkey.
From History of Istanbul, through the wilderness of Anatolia and the captivating Cappadocia, to the seafront of the Black Sea, I explored a country rich of beautiful and varied places, where people are incredibly available, kind and hospitable.

Of course, I could stay another 2 months here but there are also other fascinating places that will be ahead of me very soon, starting with Iran.
I cannot wait to discover this cradle of civilisation and culture, even more since I lived with my Iranian friends in Amsterdam for almost 1 year.

A smooth transition to tell you that I went to the Iranian embassy today and I got my visa in... 1 hour!
On the other hand, it is my first expense for this trip, that started 2 months ago. The only budget that I planned to use in the meantime as I am not yet ready to cross borders without a visa!
He unfortunately cost me 75 euro, but I think it is an expense that everyone could achieve somehow, therefore not being out of the project.
I'm allowed to be in Persia for a month, and will be able to extend my stay for another 15 days when on spot.

Days are very different from one another and I get more and more into a state of total impermanence.
Before I went to the embassy, I tried a new method in order to get free food, so I went to a restaurant to try and get food that wouldn't be sold to customers.
I finally ate in the restaurant for free!
On the way back, I wanted to go to a local supermarket to get some free food to cook for my guests (Peter, Hungarian, and Ogulcan, Turkish), as well as for other couchsurfers on spot (Sonia, Italian and Juan, Argentinian), and I ended up eating in the store for free!
In addition, I managed to get 2 kilos of homemade bread as a gift for Sonia's birthday.

I will stay around until Saturday in Trabzon in order to rest before going slowly towards the mountains of Eastern Anatolia, and to Iran.
I should be in Tabriz (Iran) early next week, en route to new adventures. Again, I can not guarantee my internet connection frequency until then.

However, I promise you new pictures and videos very soon!
